A vacancy for a Telecommunications Engineer to work on a major GCC marine project for a European Systems Integration Consultant team.
The prime purpose of the role is to participate in the monitoring of contractors progress, reviewing initially the design and then implementation of deliverables to ensure that systems are delivered according to contract requirements and technical specifications.
The Telecommunications Engineer shall be responsible for Telecommunications systems such as local area network (NPP LAN), Cyber security, Wireless Network (WLAN), Satellite and IP TV (SAT/ IP TV), IP Telephony, Tetra, 3G and LTE, Integrated Communication Systems (ICS), etc
Responsibilities include:
Reviewing and commenting on Contractor’s drawings and documents of the relevant systems during the design and implementation phases.
Monitoring and participating in coordination meetings between the stakeholder and contractor
Inspections of site construction activities
Monitoring contractor’s progress and ensuring works are designed and implemented according to technical specifications
Reviewing and commenting on contractor’s test plans and procedures, participating throughout the testing, commissioning and hand-over of the systems
Technically supporting the Telecommunications Manager for all project related activities
Reporting progress of the project activities
Developing project Telecommunication systems design basis and specifications
المهارات
Bachelors degree in Telecommunications, Data Networks or related subject
Masters Degree or doctorate in a related field preferred
Proven working experience of ten years minimum in digital data communications networks, media transmissions, fibre optic networks, wireless networks, voice and video systems and network security.
Good analytical skills, able to follow directions, team spirited and able to effectively work within a multinational team
Working experience within the design, implementation, construction and management of large-scale telecommunications project with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the GCC area.
Solid knowledge of international telecommunication standards such as BICSI, ANSI/TIA/EIA, etc.
Safety aware and knowledgeable of large infrastructure projects safety requirements
Masters Degree or doctorate in a related field preferred
